Maastricht and the surrounding region offer anglers ample opportunity to practice their favourite sport. In the Meuse, angling for practically all kinds of freshwater fish is possible. The gravel-pit lakes just to the north as well as the south of the city contain a beautiful stock of carp. You can obtain angling permits, separate permits for specific fishponds, as well as membership cards, including the entire package of permits, from the Maastricht tourist office.
